Jessica and her team put together the most incredible dessert bar for our wedding. We decided we didn't want a traditional wedding cake, and after seeing the display Jessica put together we are so happy with that decision! Jessica offers a huge range of dessert options, was very helpful in working with us to account for all of our guests' dietary restrictions, and put together the most gorgeous display - and most importantly all of the desserts were incredible! Highly recommend Nothing Bakes Like a Parrott for any wedding or event!

Jessica made us a two tier cake and cupcakes for our wedding this summer. We did a tasting box and it was so hard to pick our final flavors because they were all delicious. We had our wedding on Peaks Island, so they had to deliver it to the island. Everything arrived perfectly and was set up for us when they arrived. I opted to return the set up materials myself rather than have them go back out to the island to get them, which worked out perfectly for us. All the flavor combinations are wonderful, and our guests raved about how delicious the cupcakes were! We recommend a Lemon cake with raspberry filling and cream cheese frosting!!

We booked Nothing Bakes Like a Parrot for our wedding, mostly based off of reviews we found online and some pictures we saw. After contacting them, Jessica was always great although sometimes a little slow to respond. Because we only purchased a two tier cake, our spend amount wasn't enough for a tasting. We never actually met Jessica in person, or any other team member. However, based on communications we had no worries or doubts. However, on my wedding day I saw the cake. I should note I did not see it until I was about to walk down the aisle, as we spent all day getting ready away from the reception space. It was not what I expected at all. While I understand that a cake will never look exactly like any inspo. picture sent, our cake had no resemblance. I had asked for something with pale pastels and instead literally got a neon cake. I wanted taller and slightly narrower tiers, but instead the tiers were standard and fat. There was also some floral details on the cake that besides being neon, kind of looked like a toddler did them. the overall presentation was slightly messy looking and almost as though it was thrown together at the last minute. If possible I will figure out how to attach photos so you can see the difference between what I asked for and what I received. Although it does look like I am not allowed to attach photos. I did reach out to the company just to let them know about the issues but never heard a peep from them. So I am writing this review so others can be aware of what occurred and hopefully avoid this in the future.

We had a whole dessert table and cake and everything Was beautiful and delicious. I wanted a specific design for our cake that had both of our dogs incorporated into it. They did such an amazing job with the decorations and incorporating our dogs into the cake. They also put all the desserts that we got in separate baggies because of Covid that we thought of last minute. Lemme tell you everyone loved the cake and the desserts. Delicious & beautiful

Nothing Bakes Like a Parrot was so great to work with! I initially found them as we were getting married in Southern Maine and I have food allergies so after searching and searching I finally found them and knew they would be able to cater to my allergies yet still create amazing cupcakes for our wedding! I'm so glad I found them. They were terrific to work with from the tasting in their bakery to them delivering the cupcakes right to our venue to the AMAZING cupcakes they baked for us. Our guests still rave about their cupcakes and we already can't wait to eat the ones we froze for our first wedding anniversary! I can't recommend Nothing Bakes Like a Parrott enough!

Jessica and her team were the best! They took our ideas and combined them into exactly what we were looking for, a cake that completely fit in with the day! And it tasted amazing!! Can't recommend them enough!

We decided not to have a traditional wedding cake, but rather an assorted dessert bar. This was a great decision! Our guests can't stop talking about how beautiful the display was, the variety of desserts, and how delicious they were! We had a small ceremonial cutting cake, and then whoopie pies, cannolis, tiramisu shooters, cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries, and pie pops. Jenny is very talented, creative, and easy to work with.

Our cake and cupcakes for our wedding were absolutely beautiful and delicious! My guests have been talking about them non-stop. The display was gorgeous and Jessica was so easy to work with. Highly recommend for weddings or any other special occasions!

WOW! Jessica and her team created a beautiful dessert table for our wedding in August. We had a small cake, woopie pies, cookies, mini pies, and chocolate strawberries. The desserts all tasted amazing, and looked so beautifully set up with rustic touches and elements that coordinated with our wedding theme. I would highly recommend using them for all your wedding dessert needs.

When I looked at the Nothing Bakes Like a Parrott Instagram page, I was simply amazed! If you can think it, they can definitely design it! The cake tasting appointment was so much fun. It was almost too hard to make a decision on flavors. We definitely ended up with the wedding cake of our dreams. It was so beautiful & delicious!

I contacted Nothing Bakes Like a Parrott after scouring the internet for a Maine-based baker that lived to my high standards. I knew I wanted a baker who could provide clean lines using white buttercream. Jessica more than delivered! I knew in reading the reviews, correspondence might be slow. I also was planning my wedding from D.C., so I knew I needed to allow for ample time to respond before a potential tasting. We are able to schedule our tasting for a Saturday that we were in town for my brother’s wedding. Jessica’s tastings included 6 cupcake flavors and design discussions. The prices were all fair and in line with her competitors’, the cupcakes and cake designs looked amazing, and her flavors were what dreams were made of! We chose mocha because my coffee obsession is a running joke (and it was my favorite!), but we were very close to choosing any of the other five flavors we tried. For the day of our wedding, she made absolutely stunning sugar flowers and her buttercream was perfect. We couldn’t wait to cut into it! Her staff was so efficient I didn’t even see them deliver the cake – I just walked into the room and it was all set up! When it came time for our cake cutting, it was just as delicious as I remembered. I truly can’t wait to order cupcakes with my husband for our anniversary. I would hire Nothing Bakes Like a Parrott again for any other event where a dessert is needed.

Jessica created the most delicious and beautiful cake and table of desserts. The design elements of the dessert table fit in perfectly with our reception aesthetic. She really executed our vision. Also, we thought we over ordered desserts but the table was empty by the end of the night, everyone loved the desserts SO much (especially the mini whoopie pies; they were a huge hit!) And, importanly, Jessica and her team were very communicative, always responding to my emails/calls, etc. quickly and were so easy to work with. Would absolutely recommend

We had a small wedding with regular and mini cupcakes, we fell in love with too many flavors and Jessica made it easy and said we could do them all! Everything was setup when I arrived and I couldn't have asked for more delicious cupcakes, I definitely recommend Nothing Bakes Like a Parrott

When we started our wedding cake hunt we were nervous since we were planning our wedding across the country (we live in Los Angeles and the venue was in Maine). We were able to get connected with Nothing Bakes Like a Parrot and were immediately impressed with their customer service. They even shipped us 15 different cupcake flavors as well as different frosting types for us to mix and match and find the perfect one. It was amazing because we had for sure though we were going to go with a lemon and blueberry combo, but after tasting their Salted Caramel option we knew we had found a true winner. It was the perfect cap to an amazing wedding day! They arrived the day of prompt and set a beautiful cake presentation. Their pricing is very reasonable and their communication throughout was awesome. We are dessert first kind of people and their cake DID NOT dissapoint!

What can I say... Jenny made the wedding cake experience the most fun part of wedding planning! My husband and I spent the afternoon enjoying delicious cupcakes and then went home with dozens of samples of the various other deserts we wanted to add to our wedding! On the wedding weekend Jenny was spectacular! Her display was goregous, the deserts were a hit! The only deserts that were leftover were eaten before the end of brunch the next day! You cannot go wrong with Nothing Bakes Like a Parrot!

If you are looking for a baker who understands your style, the look you are going for and makes amazing cake, look no further than Nothing Bakes Like a Parrott! Our cake was simple, beautiful, and tasted like a dream! We went with 2 tiers of french toast and two tiers of their triple threat (chocolate, caramel and coconut!). Both flavors had our guests raving! We highly recommend them for any special occasion!

Jess and Jenny were incredible to work with. Jess showed energy and enthusiasm about our wedding every time we spoke. Her passion for what she does comes through in her studio as well and we enjoyed our time there tasting all our wedding desserts! They took care of set up and all the trays and stands the day of our wedding and matched our wedding theme perfectly. Our guests raved about the desserts (especially the cake pops!) and they even made a delicious batch of gluten free desserts for our gluten free guests. I could not recommend Nothing Bakes Like a Parrott more, especially if you love dessert as much as my husband and i do :)

I got a number of mini desserts for my wedding, and they were so delicious! We actually ran out a lot more quickly than I thought that we would. Guests kept going up for seconds, thirds, fourths, etc. My advice - use Nothing Bakes Like A Parrot for your wedding and order more than you think that you'll need. Your guests are going to LOVE it!

Jessica was so easy to work with. Very organized and totally brought our vision to life. Our wedding cake was BEAUTIFUL and DELICIOUS. The dessert table was a huge hit! I didn't even get to try and of the desserts the day of (we had sampled prior and everything was soooo good) but I heard from numerous guests that everything was AMAZING! Especially the cake pops and cannoli! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Nothing Bakes Like a Parrot was a complete joy to work with. Very organized, communicative, and easy-going. Our wedding cake looked beautiful and was exactly what I dreamed of...it also tasted amazing! We also got whoopie pies, which were a huge hit...especially the oatmeal whoopie pies. Just amazing. I would book them again in a heartbeat, and highly, recommend.

We booked with them, and then never had to worry about the cake again! We had multiple people tell us our wedding cake was delicious, and usually wedding cake isn't great from what I've heard. I would buy more cakes from them for sure!

Best.Wedding.Cake.Ever. I am severely lactose intolerant and couldn't have a cake with buttercream frosting (gasp! I know). I had gone to so many bakers in Maine, most who said they couldn't do it. ... and then we found Jessica. She and her team baked us the most delicious wedding cake anyone has ever tasted. And not a single of our guests knew that it was dairy-free :) We didn't have to compromise for great taste because of a food allergy. If you have any dietary restrictions, rest assured, Jessica and her team will make your wedding cake dreams come true!

Amazing sheet cakes that look great and taste even better! I continue to get compliments on my wedding cake, people couldn't get enough but that was ok because the sheet cakes were huge with plenty to go around!

Jessica and her team are great. The desserts were amazing and our guests LOVED them. They also did a great job setting up the dessert table with their presentation.

Jessica was absolutely amazing! We had a Groom's cake along with our wedding cake, and both cakes were everything we asked for and more! They were beautiful to look at and tasted amazing!!!! Our guests raved about how the raspberry and lemon fillings were the best they have ever had! Jessica did an amazing job on our wedding cake! Not only was it beautiful, but also delicious! I had so many people come up to me and comment on how good the cake was during the reception. We will definitely be ordering more cakes from her!

We had a 6" wedding cake and then cupcakes and they were all perfect and delicious! Jessica also creates beautiful displays, so I knew day of that she would be at the venue setting up everything. When we arrived to the venue it was exactly what we wanted, a very cute cupcake tower and little chalkboard labels for the cupcakes! 100% will be returning to her in the future.

Working with Jessica was really fun! We did a dessert table for our wedding. We got to taste everything before hand, so that was a very fun meeting! Jessica designed the layout of everything, and it looked beautiful. We got so many compliments about the desserts. We ordered mini whoopie pies, cookies, peanut butter brownies, cut-out cookies (In the shape of Maine and Texas!), mini pies and a small wedding cake for cutting. Everything tasted great. The only reason I didn't do 5 stars is I was a little disappointed with the look of my wedding cake. It had sea glass candy on it (sea glass was our theme) and it just looked a little messy, tasted great though. Overall, I loved working with Jessica and people loved our dessert table!

We worked with Jessica on our dessert bar for our recent wedding, and I would highly recommend!! Jessica is sweet and very easy to work with, and we couldn't be happier with how our dessert table turned out! We ordered a little bit of everything and it was all amazing... everyone was so happy! The presentation was beautiful too - Jessica decorated the table with really cool nautical theme props.

Jessica has an amazing ability to make all of her cakes and cupcakes taste as good as they look! We had a small round cake on top of a cupcake display and everything turned out beautifully! We were doing a winter wedding with pinecone details and Jessica made yummy chocolate pinecones to accent our cupcake display. I highly recommend Nothing Bakes Like a Parrott!

We ordered 150 cupcakes and whoopie pie favors from Nothing Bakes Like A Parrott. Guests loved them! We had 4 flavor options and many guests tried more than 2 cupcakes! And took some home. The owner Jessica was always very responsive and easy to work with. Affordable too compared to some other bakeries we looked at and we tested many out, these by far were the best.

Jessica made ordering our desserts so easy. She was very flexible, accommodated our gluten free guests, and took care of the set up so it was exactly what we wanted.

The wedding cake by Nothing Bakes Like a Parrott was so delicious and beautiful! Lots of flavor choices and combinations at the initial tasting, and completely open to any request for design and decoration. It came out perfectly, and it was wonderful! Looking forward to the top section that's in my freezer!

My husband and I were just married in September on Peaks Island. Our florist had recommended Jessica at Nothing Bakes Like A Parrott and we are so thankful she did! Jessica is amazing at what she does. I live in Dallas so planning a long distance wedding was difficult, however, Jessica made is easy. With only one in-person meeting and a couple of phone calls, she executed our vision of a dessert table perfectly! In fact, it was the thing that guests complimented the most! We had a selection of mini cupcakes, mini whoppie pies, mini pies, and cake pops -- everything was gone by the time the night was over because it was so delicious. Jessica also took care of the table decoration for the display and it came out gorgeous. I would recommend Jessica to anyone, she's fabulous!

Everything was delicious, and turned out exactly like the picture we provided for Jessica. Our only frustration was that it was difficult to reach the store, both by email or by phone. It usually took a week or more to get back to us. In the end we were very happy with the prices, Jessica Parrott's enthusiasm, and the end results! We would recommend Nothing Bakes Like A Parrott, just expect a little bit of a delay in reply, otherwise good experience!

Jessica was amazing from beginning to end. We were referred by our wedding vendor with wonderful results. Being that we no longer live in the state of Maine she was able to meet us on a Sunday in August and not during her regular hours. She brought many different cakes and frosting samples for us to try and take home. What we wanted was not something on her "normal" menu but she was more than happy to accommodate our needs with wonderful results. I think we gave her a vague general idea and she was able to deliver a product that took my breath away. The presenation as well as the taste were great. We received many compliments on taste, that it was the best wedding cake that they had ever had! We and our guests would recommend her to anyone and everyone.

Not impressed with my cake. Top tier was lopsided! and no follow up by the cake maker afterwards...

The tasting went great and we booked her right away. Her prices are very reasonable compared to some of the others that I researched. We ended up finalizing the design about two weeks prior, and she was able to recreate a cake stand that I had found that really fit with the theme of the cake. The cake looked great, it tasted great, and I can't wait for our 1-year anniversary to eat that top layer that we hope we've wrapped well enough to make it last.

Jessica was great to deal with by email, but she didn't follow through as expected. She was a complete no-show for the cake tasting we set up and didn't even email to say how sorry she was for missing it. When I got back in touch with her and heard her "I've been so busy" excuse, we made another date for tasting and it was a huge disappointment. The cake tasted like it had been in the freezer for a couple years. I'd hate to book her for a wedding and then get that kind of cake for the wedding (if she showed up at all). I've heard great things about her so maybe I just had bad luck, but be careful.

I highly recommend this bakery for a wedding. They were a good value, great service and the cake was gorgeous, plus delicious. You can't go wrong!

Jessica Parrott at Nothing Bakes like a Parrott is definitely the young, up-and-coming baker for Maine and New England! She was recommended to me by a friend, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the product, service, and overall look of her cakes! She is so easy to work with, EXTREMELY reasonable on price, and honestly makes the best cakes that I've ever tasted at a wedding!!!! I wanted to eat my cake top the next day! Jessica was a pleasant surprise and I couldn't have been more thrilled with everything!!!

Everyone loved the wedding cake we got from Jessica Parrott. She even did a grooms cake in the shape of a Patriots jersey for my husband and he absolutely loved it! The cake was absolutely what I had asked for and delicious! I highly recommend Jessica and she was so easy to work with!

This cake was amazing!! We only did one cake tasting, and after tasting Jessica's creations, we were sold. We got a chocolate and vanilla cake with chocolate ganache filling and mocha buttercream frosting -- yum! The buttercream was my favorite. Very thick and rich but not too sweet or buttery. Everyone said it was the best wedding cake they'd had. Jessica was really great to work with and took lots of my ideas and pictures of what I wanted and combined them all well to design something just perfect. Her prices were very reasonable as well. We will recommend Jessica to anyone looking for any kind of cake in the Portland area!
